Job Description
Quality Control Technician
This role has responsibility for continuous monitoring of multiple production lines for quality defects in products, packaging, weight control, printed coding, and for performance testing of finished products. The role will record significant amounts of data collected from these duties on paper as well as computer spreadsheets and databases.
Will operate check weighing and x-ray inspection devices, including set-up and troubleshooting.
Some performance testing requires the use of chemicals, personal safety gear, and will require mathematical calculations for finalizing results.
Performance of these responsibilities will be in loud, high speed manufacturing environment, and will be fast-paced, requiring multitasking and prioritizing of workflow.
Helps to establish and maintain good manufacturing and quality practices as well as improving procedures in order to reduce or eliminate non-compliance, risks and losses due to deviations from food safety, legality, and company quality standards.
Should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Preference given to applicants with 2-3 years of experience of quality control in food manufacturing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to explain details clearly to supervisors and managers is required.
Physical: lifting from low level to above shoulder level 15 lbs. frequently, 35 lbs. on occasion. Standing and walking continuously during work shift is a must. Bending and Reaching is required.
