Operates straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, in order to load trucks or feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate.
Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into material piles.
Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
Becomes familiar with digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application.
Moves materials over short distances.
Loads trucks and rail cars.
Measures and weighs materials.
Creates and maintains inclines and ramps, and handle slides, mud, and pit cleanings and maintenance.
Inspects material moving equipment and performs routine maintenance such as: lubricating, adjusting and repairing machinery; replacing parts such as gears, bearings, and cutting edges; fueling, and; cleaning.
Uses power or hand tools.
Assists in plant maintenance as directed.
Perform safety inspections in and around sand plant.
Must be able to work overtime during busy season.
Other duties may be assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the following physical abilities:
Frequently sit; walk, stand; use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel and; reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell; and talk or hear.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Certain job tasks may require you to wear a half mask respirator in which you will need to meet the osha guidelines based on 1910.134(g)(1)(i).

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Typical hours during Production season are 6:30/7am-7pm M-F, Some Saturdays may be required and are 7/8am-until needed. Typical hours during Maintenance season are 7am-5pm M-F. Hours can vary depending on customer demand and weather.
