About the Job

We are currently seeking multiple Crisis Peer Supports to provide crisis services over-the-phone, face-to-face in the community, and in-office at our new Crisis Stabilization Center, Alex's Place. Crisis Peer Supports provide short-term crisis intervention to youth, families, and adults experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric crisis and work closely with law enforcement, schools, and other medical providers to stabilize acute or crisis situations and connect individuals with continuing mental and behavioral health services based on their needs, strengths, and preferences.

Available Shifts

Weekday Evening (Full-Time): Monday through Friday evenings. The start and end times are negotiable (4:00pm-12:30pm preferred)

Weekend Package (Part-Time): 12:00am-12:30pm OR 12:00pm-12:30am on Saturday and Sunday (could be every weekend or every other weekend)

Salary Range

$19.00-$21.00 per hour (Depending on years of experience and education level) PLUS a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus AND shift differentials!

-Evening Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour

-Overnight Shift Differential: $4.00 per hour

-Weekend Shift Differential: $4.00 per hour

Requirements

• Eligible applicants must qualify for a peer support specialist certification (visit https://iowabc.org/credentials/mhpss/ for more information)
• At least one year of related experience is required
• Must have 40 hours of crisis response training or a willingness to attain it
• Some travel is a requirement of this position, so a valid driver's license is required
